Question #
80

I have to answer this in 50 words. What might be my opportunity cost of not going to school and not getting a degree?

I'm looking for information regarding the top career interests for kids (under 18) today. This website: http://www.careersforthefuture.com/topten.html had listed basically what I need - not a list of the career fields that are growing (ex computer science or biomedical technology) but rather what kids are asking about? For example, I noticed "forensic scientist" was at the top of the list of the aforementioned site. Some would speculate that it's because of the increasing popularity of shows like CSI. So while this site had a list, I just wasn't sure it was credible. Furthermore, I was hoping to find similar information from previous time periods. How have these interests changed since 1990 or 1970? And last, if at all possible, I wanted a racial breakdown of these career interests. For example, is there a general difference between the interests of hispanic children and caucasian children or does the difference lie in the individual?
